Dear God what the hell are you doing now!!!
Ok well the reasons i did this little modification are..
1: Boredom complete boredom i am in Utah so it happens here..... a lot
2: Talked to my friend Addam about it and he did it to his 2004 WRX and i thought...eh why the hell not
3: A small power gain
It will give you a slight power gain by
1:getting of yet another restriction on the intake system allowing your engine and turbo to breathe easier
2: getting the cold air from the lower part of the bumper.
here is a little pic of the intake silence box
ok and here is how to get it out.
1: Take out the two pastic screws holding the front part of your intake on(where it sucks from the front of the hood at)
2: Undo your intake hose that leads toward the engine/turbo its just one clamp
3: Take apart your Intake box as thought you were changing the filter. and unbolt the bolts you find holding the box in.
4: Pull out the intake box carefully
5: This one is pretty nice i guess after seeing how many people pulled out the intake silencers on the WRX's subaru figured that the legacy people would probably pull out theirs too. so they put it on with a clip here is a pic of it(note: its one of those plastic screw clips you probbably cannot tell from the image)

6: Reinstall it all making sure that everything is connected correctly and you are done.
Pretty nice huh and easy so that is why people do it so often have fun everybody
