You have only had that car 2 weeks!!!!

I heard that so many times by neighbors, friends and parents. Every single one was suprised i would even mess with my car so early. It really looks a lot worse than it was. Here is the story about it.

So a week after i finally got my car, after waiting about two months, i was talking to a WRX owner named Neil about his headlights because when i first saw them they looked hot, but i was not sure why. We talked and he told me about how the WRX guys clear their headlights and i was very intrigued and wanted to do so myself due to the very clean look it gave the car.

So a week later this is the image my neighber saw after already seeing me wash my car about 7 times(go utah weather) As my neighbor exited his vehicle he yelled across his yard " You have only had that car for two weeks... you need to stop fucking with it" I in turn laughed and kept digging away at the car. These headlights were much harder to pull out than my old 90 Legacy. here are the steps

1: Unbolt the grille it has 4 bolts and then you must unclip it.

2: Unbolt the top of the lights i cant remember but i believe there are 2 bolts

3: Now carefull but there about 10 pop off clips to get the front bumper off, its not necessary to unplug the fog lights but you can. also i suggest putting down some cloth or something soft to set your bubmper on. (note: some of the clips are in the wheel well be carefull with all of them)

4: Doing step 3 exposes the brackets that are holding the headlights in unbolt them and you are almost there.

5: unplug all of the wires leading from the car to the headlights and you should be good to pull them out

Here is the headlight on my counter

ok now to the steps of getting this headlight apart so you can pull out the amber colored bracket.

6: Undo all of the lights wires and evrything you can minus the headlight adjust bolts there also some small torqe head to pull off make sure you get them all and DO NOT TOUCH THE BULBS YOUR GREASY HAND WILL CaUSE IT TO BREAK AFTER IT HEATS UP LATER

7: The scary part.... make sure your oven is on BAKE NOT BROIL and its at ONLY 200 DEGREES. I was freaking out during this part i kept checking on the light to make sure it was ok. Make sure to use a cookie sheet or something of the sort cause this light ends up being fucking hot. The headlight only has to be in the oven about 10 minutes but i took forever cause i kept checking it to make sure my light was ok.

8: Pull apart the light, the silicone(or whatever) is warm enough and loose enough to peel apart. it is pretty hard still but it comes apart. make sure to pull the tabs up where they are needed you may need a small flathead screwdriver for this

9: Carefully pull out the amber colored insert dont touch any of the chrome cause it may discolor.

10: Put the light back into the oven make sure the lense is clean same amount of degrees and same amount of time.

11: Put the light back together making sure that it is completly sealed or you may get humidity in the lense later make sure the tabs all click back on also.

12: Reinstall all of the bulbs and other accessories

This is what mine looked like afterward on the counter still
