Willow unlocked the door and balanced her grocery bag as she walked inside. After shutting the door, she walked into the kitchen. The flashing light on her answering machine caught her eye, so she set the bag on the counter and went to answer it. “Hey Willow. It's me, Buffy. Um, just call me when you get a chance, it’s about tonight. Bye!”
Willow picked grabbed the phone and dialed Buffy’s number. She started putting away the food while it rang. After three rings, Buffy picked up. “Hello?”
“Hey Buff. What did you need?” Willow opened the refrigerator and set the vegetables inside.
“What time do you want me and Dave to come over?”
“Well,” Willow stopped pacing and thought, “I guess you should come at six. I think Oz told Xander that dinner was at six. His practice ends at five, so he should be able to get home by then. I’m so glad we decided to move in together after we graduated.”
“Yeah, but that meant that you couldn’t get the job you wanted. Not all geniuses work in the public library.”
“Yeah, but it’s better that what you're doing. What are you doing again? Oh yeah, nothing!” Willow folded the brown bag and set in the closet.
“I’m just unemployed at the moment, but that’s going to change soon.”
“Why? What’s happening?”
“Dave’s getting me a job as his secretary. It’s gonna be cool. I’ll be seeing him more, ‘cause I don’t see him much at night. Lawyers don’t really stay up that late. I’m just glad that he understands that I need to slay.”
“Yeah. So have you picked a date yet?”
“No, but we probably will have it next year. Dave wants to have it on our anniversary I think it’s so he won’t have to remember another date!”
“Yeah,” Willow giggled, “So, do I get to be in the wedding?”
“Of course, Willow. You’re gonna be my Maid of Honor. Why wouldn't you be? I mean you are my best friend. It’s just going to be tough to find a dress that doesn’t clash with your hair!” Buffy started laughing and Willow joined her.
“Well, I gotta go now. Dinner’s not going to make itself. Bye!”
“I’ll see you tonight. Bye!”
Willow hung up and walked into her living room. She searched the CD shelf and finally found what she was looking for. She threw the CD into the stereo and walked back to the kitchen. Les Miersables flowed through the apartment.
Willow took the vegetables out of the fridge and started washing them. She Broke the lettuce into little pieces and sang along with the CD. “On my own, pretending he's beside me. All alone, I walk with him 'till morning. Without him, I feel his arms around me. And when I lose my way, I close my eyes and he has found me." Willow continued to sing as she cut the rest of the vegetables and threw them into a bowl. She sprinkled some croutons on top and stuck it in the refrigerator. After she made the garlic bread, she put some water on the stove to boil.
Willow was about to take out the spaghetti when she heard someone singing. The Track had changed and it was now playing 'A heart Full of Love'. Oz was singing from the living room. "A Heart Full of love. A heart full of song. I'm doing everything all wrong. Oh God, for shame. I do not even know your name. Dear Mad'moisells, Won't you say? Will you tell?"
Willow walked out to the living room and joined Oz, "A heart full of love. No fear, no regret." They sang back and forth.
"My name is Marius Pontmercy."
"And mine's Cosette."
"Cosette, I don't know what to say."
"Then make no sound."
"I am lost"
"I am found."
"A heart full of light," Oz moved closer to Willow.
"A night bright as day."
"And you must never go away. Cosette, Cosette."
"This is a chain we'll never break," Willow moved a little closer to Oz.
"Do I dream?"
"I'm awake!"
"A heart full of love," Oz moved still closer to Willow.
"A heart full of you."
"A single look and then I knew."
"I knew it too."
"From today."
"Every day," Willow took one more step towards Oz, and they were almost touching.
"For it isn't a dream," They sang together, "Not a dream after all."
Oz closed the distance and held her tight. He caught her lips and kisses her softly. Willow moaned from deep within her throat and deepened the kiss. They stood there, kissing, until Willow backed away. "The water's boiling. I gotta go finish dinner. Xander, Laura, Buffy, and Dave should be here soon. Go get ready." Willow kissed him quickly and headed towards the kitchen.
----------
There was a knock on the door and Willow opened it. "Hey Buffy, Dave," Willow smiled and moved aside to let them in.
"Hi. Hey Oz!" Buffy called out to Oz, who was setting the table.
"Hey Buff. Hey Dave."
"Hey Oz. Here Willow," Dave handed her a bottle of red wine and brushed a strand of his blonde hair out of his eyes. Then he went to sit down next to Buffy.
"Thanks. I'll go get some glasses," Willow walked back to the kitchen. She grabbed six wine glasses and went back to the living room. Xander and Laura were sitting at the table when she got back. "Hey guys."
"Will, this is Laura. Laura, Willow." Xander gestured to both women.
"Nice to meet you Laura," Willow smiled and sat down. Oz poured everyone a glass of wine, and they started to eat.
"You too. Xander's told me a lot about you. I couldn't wait to meet you," Laura smiled back. Willow took a moment to study her. Laura had light brown hair and pale green eyes. She was wearing a low cut, light blue dress that went down to her mid thigh.
"It's too bad you guys don't live in Sunnydale," Buffy said, taking a sip of wine. "How is Sacramento?"
"It's good. I do miss you guys though. How's the band doing Oz?" Xander finished his salad and moved on to his spaghetti.
"We just got a record deal. Devon wants us to move to LA, but I won't."
Willow grabbed another piece of garlic bread and said, "So Dave, what have you been doing?"
"Well, I just got appointed to work on a big case. I'll have to put in a few more hours of work every night, but Buffy doesn't see me much at night anyway."
"Why's that," Laura asked.
"It's because I go to bed early," Buffy said quickly, "I like to get up early, and I can't stay awake that late."
"Oh," Laura looked at Xander and picked at her plate. Everyone looked worried at each other and finished their food quietly.
