Good-bye

Oz held back his tears and drove to Xander's house. He sat in the driveway for fifteen minutes before he could find the courage to go in. Xander's mom let him in and Oz trampled down the stairs. "Xander?"

"Over here Oz," Xander called from his sea on his bed. He looked up and smiled at Oz.

"Did they tell you what happened?"

"No, but I'll find out eventually. It's not like they pay much attention to me anymore. Well, except for you." Xander frowned and looked as though he was on the brink of tears.

"I slept with Veruca when we were werewolves," Oz paused and looked at Xander, "I'm leaving."

"Forever?" Xander gasped as a tear slid down his cheek.

"No," Oz slid closer to Xander and hugged him. "Just until I figure out everything that's going on in my head."

"Can't you sort that out here, with me?"

"No, I need to get away from people," Oz sighed, "everything's just too confusing for me. I thought I loved Willow, but then I found out it was you I wanted."

"Then why do you still stay with Willow?" Xander was sobbing now and shaking in Oz's arms.

"I love both of you. Is that possible, to be in love with two people at the same time?"

"You love me?" Xander lifted his head and studied Oz.

"Yes," Oz said, his eyes glistening, "I love you so much." He leaned down and captured Xander's lips in his. They let the kiss remain gentle and soothing, not rushing things. Xander broke the kiss and swallowed hard.

"Don't go. I need you here," Xander trembled from crying.

Oz wiped Xander's cheek and kissed him again. His lips lingered for a while before he pulled away. "I have to go now," Oz sniffed and brushed at his own cheek, "but I'll be back." He stood up and moved slowly towards the door.

"Bye, Oz!"

"Good-bye Xander."

"I love you too."

"I love you, and thanks."
