Xander was walking home from work. His latest job being at the Expresso Pump. He was almost to his street when he heard a rather loud grunting coming from across the street. *Horny kids.* He shrugged it off and continued on his way. He would have kept walking if he hadn't heard the key word. Slayer. Xander spun around and ran towards the grunting.
Buffy was backed up against a tree trying to free herself from a vamp's grip. "Buffy!" without thinking he grabbed the vamp by the neck and pulled back. Throughly surprised, he let go of Buffy and stumbled back. Slipping a stake out of her sleve Buffy lpunged it into it's chest. The dust sprinkled down in a shimmering cloud.
"Thanks," Buffy smiled and tucked the stake in her back pocket.
"Don't mention it, really," Xander grinned, "It's not every day I get to save the Slayer."
"What are you doing out here anyway?"
"I'm heading home. Want to come with?"
"Sure," Buffy started walking in the general direction of his house, "Do you mind if I sleep over?" She sheepishly looked over at him.
"Huh?" the shock was obvious, "I mean sure."
"It's just that Willow's got a date and she asked me to stay out of the room for the night. I was supposed to go to my house, but my mom doesn't like to see me after I've been slaying."
"Oh, date?"
"Percy. They've been seeing a lot of each other lately," Buffy stepped a little closer to Xander and slid her hand into his, "I think they're cute together."
"Percy," Xander raised an eyebrow. *Handholding, this is new.*, "Isn't he a little braindead for Willow?"
"Nope, they've had many study sessions, and it turns out he's actually smart."
"We're here," Xander took out his key and unlocked the door, "Try to be quiet 'cause my parents are sleeping." They hurried through the living room and headed down the basement stairs. Buffy sat down on Xander's bed and looked around.
"You cleaned up since the last time I was here."
"Yeah. Well, as went Anya, so went her stuff."
"Sorry about that."
"Wasn't meant to be," Xander said as he handed her an oversized shirt, "You can wear this."
"And you would be going elsewhere, right?" Buffy laughed.
"Oh, yeah," Xander started walking up the stairs. "Buff, do you want-" Xander turned around to see Buffy. Shirtless Buffy.
"Xander, could you be not here?" Buffy crossed her arms and nervously smiled, "My shirt is kinda having an off moment."
"Yeah," Xander frantically trapled up the stairs, "and I wasn't looking, don't worry."
When Xander came back down Buffy was dressed again. "Here," he tossed her a box of bandaids, "for the cut on your shoulder."
"You mean the one you noticed while you were busy not looking?"
"That'd be the one," Xander grinned and walked over to his bed, "I'll sleep on the floor."
"No, we'll share."
"Um," Xander gulped, "ok." He crawled under the covers and tried his best to relax. Any attempts were stopped when Buffy joined him.
"I'm not really that sorry about you and Anya," Buffy admitted.
"Right now, me either," he leaned over and gently kissed Buffy. Her lips were soft and they tasted like peaches. When she didn't recoil and pull away Xander ran his tongue over her lips. She opened her mouth to him and their tongues carressed each others. Buffy finally broke the kiss.
"Goodnight Xander," Buffy smiled. She snuggled against him, and he wrapped an arm around her waist and sighed.
"Night Buff."
