Dragon Warrior 1
Welcome all to the beginning of the Dragon Warrior section. This is an excellent game, and is one of the first-ever console RPG's, but this game is highly flawed. Actually, the only main flaw is the menu system they use. You have to go up to a person, which isn't that bad, but then you must pull up the menu and choose talk from a list of different choices. That becomes rather boring after a while, if you know what I mean. This game, however has an excellent plot as do most RPG's we have reviewed. With good graphics for the first 8-Bit NES RPG, this game is very fun. These games get better as you go farther on, but they never released any beyond DW4 in the US. The rest are all on the Super Famicom only in Japan. However, you can download translated roms for those of you into emulation. These are very useful, mainly because you can play games in English that were never put into the United States. A great example of this is Seiken Densetsu III. This game pioneered console RPG's, but with it's flawed menu system, it isn't as good as most would think. I like this game, you may not, you may love it. Either way, this game was the first console RPG. Enjoy!
