Step 10: Write a Personal Statement
Most law schools do not interview applicants. The personal statement or personal essay is your opportunity to let the admission councils get to know who you are besides what they can deduce from the rest of your application. Unless the application says differently, the personal statement should be two pages. It is important not restate your resume in the form of a narrative. For my personal statement I told two stories that show my personality and indirectly reveal some of my characteristics. For example, one story takes place as I was in an assigned leadership position on my mission. Thus, I was able to show that I was chosen to be a leader without being boring or appearing arrogant by saying, "I am a good leader."
