Picking Out The Pomegranets

The subject of today's article is the evolution of fruit. At first, it may seem a bit odd to think that fruit would evolve but as a living species, they follow the same "strongest will survive" rules that all living things must adhere to. My favorite being the pomegranet. It is a very tasty fruit, yet difficult to eat. Very sweet yet full of sour seeds that crunch. The first time I had a pomegranet, it was an odd experience. Your hands get dyed purple, eventually your mouth is numb because of the extreme sour, and through it all, I continued to eat. I have no idea where pomegranets grow, I am sure it is somewhere warm. But, I think that they were originally planted here by some alien species. Just looking at them says alien. Of course, perhaps it is like the movie cocoon and the aliens are going to come back to recover their precious fruit. Anyway, so you are asking what the point of all of this is. The answer, commodities. Why cant you go to the store and buy a pomegranet soda, or have pomegranet juice for breakfast? Its a pyramid scam. The people at the stop have a say in what we peasants are allowed to partake of. I suspect that the limited number of pomegranets currently available are ones purchased on the black market by a pomegranet farmer that will eventually be found and killed like all the previous pomegranet farmers that have tried to sneak the pomegranets to the public. These people are risking their lives day in and day out to provide us with alien fruit and what do we do to thank them, we pretend like the fruit is just a normal fruit that they grow in Florida or Africa of something and we might buy one occasionally, almost as if we dont know that each pomegranet could have been the last one for old Tommy who was just trying to help export some precious cargo to feed his family and perhaps have a little bit extra to buy his kid an xbox but was caught by the evil ones and transferred to a designated training facility. Whew! So, the next time you run into a pomegranet at the store, think about Tommy wasting away in a prison cell in North Dakota while his kids watch Jerry Springer. Eat the pomegranet but never forget what sacrifices were made so that you could chew those tiny purple seeds and let your hands turn a deep violet and your mouth go numb from the sour. Appreciate it, because you know that Tommy does.
