Kentucky, Fourmile
Reports confirm that on December 26, 1945, an explosion in the Belva Mine (also referenced in Fourmile contexts) trapped 31 miners underground. Survivors described seeing a door open in the rock wall, revealing a well-lit room from which a man dressed as a "lumberjack" emerged, assuring them of rescue before returning and closing the door. This aligns with similar accounts from other mine disasters involving dimensional visitors providing aid. A very similar story came out of Pikeville Kentucky and there is some confusion as to whether or not this involved the SAME account. Similar "guardian angel" visits with lighting and visions occurred in Sheppton, PA disasters, suggesting interdimensional origins. Pineville newspapers from late 1981 to early 1982 documented the event.

Traditions describe walkable underground tunnels spanning Malta, sealed by the British government. The Hypogeum of Hal Saflieni contains bones of over 33,000 sacrificed by a neolithic cult. National Geographic (Aug. 1940) reports school children disappearing in the Hypogeum. British embassy worker Lois Jessup explored a 3-ft. square burial chamber leading to a ledge over a chasm, witnessing tall, white-haired humanoids on an opposite ledge who directed a "wind" and slippery entity toward her. Later, 30 children and teachers vanished in the same passage after a cave-in and cut rope; grieving mothers heard cries from underground for a week. Connections to Vatican catacombs in Rome are noted.

Ancient city SE of Oaxaca in the Zapoteca province, containing an underground temple with three sub-basements below it; the lowest level had/has a stone door leading to an underground concourse where human sacrifices to the "gods of the underworld" would be sent, behind which door victims would be sealed. Roman Catholic priests entered and explored this cavern centuries ago, passing bones along a paved concourse with stone buttresses. A mysterious "wind" extinguished their torches; they retreated and emerged convinced that it was a "cavern to hades" and ordered the sub-basements to be filled and the whole underground maze sealed. The Catholics built a church OVER the entrance to this underworld domain. "Project Lyobaa" confirms that there is an underground maze below the surface, using ground-penetrating radar.
