Ares God Of War

Den Of Ares - Main

There are many versions of Ares as shown in the following:

1-XWP Version- Ares is tall, handsome, dashing, and all together drop dead gorgeous! He is the son of Zues and Hera. He is also the half-brother to Hercules *Heracles*, whom he enjoys trying to kill. Ares meddles in humans lives just because he can.
In the earlier eps we see him chasing after Xena to get her to return to her bad girl ways mostly because he's in love with her. As the show progresses we see Ares's strong agressive side, his passionate caring side, his sly coniving side, his vain, and his wickedly cruel side.
Ares is the contrast to Hercules and Xena. He is the warrior of darkness who doesn't see the light for the longest time.
By the end of the series Ares turns good. He still loves Xena and is more than willing and does give up his godhood for her.

2-Ares, the Greek god of war, is tall and handsome, but vain and as cruel as his brother Hephaestus was kind. His sister Eris, the goddess of strife, is his constant companion, but he is also attended by his sons Deimos and Phobos, as well as Enyo, an old war-goddess.
When Ares heard the clashing of arms, he grinned with glee, put on his gleaming helmet, and leapt into his war chariot. Brandishing his sword, he rushed into the thick of battle, not caring who won or lost as long as blood was shed. A vicious crowd followed at his heels, carrying with them Pain, Panic, Famine and Oblivion. Once in a while, Ares was wounded. He was immortal but whenever he would get hurt he would run back to his father, Zeus and was healed. Needless to say, Zeus was very disgusted with his son. Ares was mainly worshipped in Thracia, a region known for its fierce people

3-Ares is the son of Zeus and Hera. He was disliked by both parents. He is the god of war. He is considered murderous and bloodstained but, also a coward. When caught in an act of adultery with Aphrodite her husband Hephaestus is able publically ridicule him. His bird is the vulture. His animal is the dog.

4-Ares was the son of Zeus and Hera, he was given the act and spirit of War. He was the god of action and determination. He was disliked by many Olympians but was loved by Aphrodite. When he was fighting on the side of the Trojans he was wounded by Pallas Athene. She put on the helm of Death and, after bending his spear, hurled a bolder at him, knocking him down senseless.
He was assisted from the field of battle by Aphrodite. When Ares retreated to Mount Olympus, his father Zeus said to him,"To me you are most hateful of all gods who hold Olympus."
Sometimes, Ares was accompanied into battle by his sister, Eris (Goddess of Discord) and Hades (Lord of the Dead). Ares was the father ot Deimos (Fear), Phobos (Terror), and Kyknos. Kyknos was killed by Herakles but Ares was unable to return the punishment of death because Zeus would not permit him (his least favorite son) to harm his favorite son, Herakles. Although he was hated and feared, Ares was honored by many great warriors, surprisingly also Herakles.

5-Ares is the god of war. He is known as a murderous, quarrelsome, vain, cruel, aggressive, and cowardly god. He rarely takes a permanent side in war, for the sight of blood shed is pure pleasure for him. It is said that his throne is covered with human skin. Ares also loves looting and slaughtering. But strangely enough, Aphrodite was attracted to him simply because he was handsome! Ares's parents are Zeus and Hera, and both of them are disgusted at Ares's hobby. Eris is Ares's sister, and the two of them love to go to war together. His sons include Deimos, Phobes, Enyo, and Eros. His bird is the vulture, and his animal, the dog.
Ares's Roman name is Mars. In Greece, Ares is not widely worshipped for it is thought that he would bring harm to your village. But for the Romans, Mars, as he was called, was very much respected.

6-ARES (AIR-eez; Roman name Mars) was the god of war, or more precisely of warlike frenzy. Though an immortal deity, he was bested by Heracles in battle and was almost killed when stuffed into a jar by two giants. When another hero wounded him during the Trojan War, he received scant sympathy from his father Zeus.
In appearance, Ares was handsome and cruel. He is often depicted carrying a bloodstained spear. His throne on Mount Olympus was said to be covered in human skin.
The Roman god Mars, with whom Ares was identified, was the father of Romulus and Remus, the mythological founders of Rome. Thus he was more important to the Romans than his Greek counterpart. He was also more dignified.
