The
Violent Breed plays a unique, fresh style of heavy metal music. It combines
the best of British, California and New Age heavy metal sounds, creating a
style that is melodic and aggressive. The
stage show is energetic, and the band’s image is that of rebellious rockers
with modern style.
The
band personnel includes; Steve Burns on vocals, John Leighton on guitar,
Patrick Peaslee on drums, Dave Watson on guitar, and Chris Williams on bass.
Like many bands of their ilk, the history of the members of Violent
Breed is intertwined through many different bands of the L.A. rock scene.
The band includes former members of Mad Salad, Street Killer, and Devil’s
Dues. The bands core includes
Dave Watson, John Leighton and Chris Williams, all former members of Mad
Salad. Steve burns (formerly of
Devil’s Dues and Valhalla) and Patrick Peaslee joined in late 1999 to
complete the lineup. Each member brings a variety of playing and composing
styles to create the unique and powerful sound of The Violent Breed.
The Violent Breed is currently working on their self-titled, debut CD and playing club dates around Los Angeles. The group is also planning concert dates in Las Vegas and Phoenix, along with a tour of the continental U.S., for the coming year.
