BRAVES WIN SYL TITLE!
TEHACHAPI NEWS --
The Braves won the South Yosemite League championship last week after recording
a 24-7 victory over West at home.
With the victory, Tehachapi (9-1; 4-1 SYL) won the program’s second straight
jayvee title and 19th overall in school history, dating back to 1965. The final
league standings actually gave the Braves a tri-championship, with both East and
Independence finishing the season with victories and 4-1 league marks.

finale, scoring on their first three offensive possessions.

first quarter, capping a 11 play, 59 yard drive. Macon finished the night as the
leading rusher, recording 101 yards on 18 carries.

first quarter on a three yard run. Eddie Graham also closed out the first half
with a 28 yard field goal to give the Braves a 17-0 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Braves put the game away for good with a Connor Timm
10-yard touchdown run. Timm was the second leading rusher for Tehachapi on the
evening, recording 92 yards on eight carries. The scoring drive was set up off a
Timm 11-yard catch on fourth down from quarterback Carson Bethany to set up the
short distance running score.
Bethany finished the night with three completions, finding Timm for the 11-yard
catch, Luke Soto for a nine-yard completion and Cameron Walsh for a 16-yard
completion.
On defense, Jackson Caudle led the team with 10 tackles, followed by Sean
Schulgen with seven tackles, Soto with six tackles and Walsh with four tackles.
Bethany and Timm also had interceptions.
