WINTER WARRIORS All Five Varsity Teams Fairing Well at eve of pre-seasons
TITLE CONTENDERS - The 2006-2007 Tehachapi Warriors during practice in December. Coming off a 20-5 (9-1 SSL) season, and back-to-back SSL titles, the title will most likely go through the Mountains again at the start of league play.

Sitting at the end of December and doing a quick analysis of all five varsity teams for Tehachapi High School, things are definitely looking up for all Mountain Sports (as they have the past couple of winters) as all five teams embark on the season ahead in 2006. Below is a breakdown of each team and how they have faired so far. Women's Soccer - Sitting with a record of 8-3-1 and two strong showings at the Taft Tournament and Gold Division (Group C) finals win in the Garces Holiday Classic, coach Tom Franchere and the rest of the Lady Warriors have to be pleased with how the season is playing out coming into the SSL stretch. Senior Candice Schlecht has been her usual dominating self, already scoring two hat-tricks on the year (Burroughs and Antelope Valley) and is well on her way to shattering her own THS record of goals scored in one season with 45 in 2005-2006. 2006-2007 Lady Warriors Soccer Schedule
Men's Soccer - Fans that come out to watch THS Warriors soccer this season are in for a show. The Warriors, who in years past have been doormats in the South Sequoia League, are slowly (but surely) affirming themselves as a top contender in league. This season, they have already made significant strides with quality wins over West-Bakersfield (3-1), Burroughs (3-2), Mojave (8-0 and 6-1) and Frazier Mountain (1-0). Mountain Football is led by a very young team, with Junior Ben Davis leading the charge with six goals scored on the season, followed closely by Tim Wheeler who has five. Robby Baker has been a great ball handler for Tehachapi on the season, with seven steals already amassed on the year. 2006-2007 Warriors Soccer Schedule
Women's Basketball - She has been reffered to as the SSL's Jordan, and with numbers like she's put up the past three seasons, there probably is little arguement. Katie Avila has been the spark plug for the Lady Warriors so far on the year, helping Tehachapi to an 11-2 record, including a Porterville Tourney consolation championship, a Littlerock Tourney Championship, and a Foothill Tourney third place finish. As a team, Tehachapi is only giving up 32.5 points per game, while putting up 46 points a contest. 2006-2007 Lady Warriors Basketball Schedule
