WASCO SHUTOUT BY THE INDIANS, 34-0

TEHACHAPI NEWS - Quarterback Ryan Dalmas threw three touchdown passes and amassed 148 yards through the air in the Indians 34-0 victory last Thursday afternoon at Coy Burnett Field.

After a back-and-forth battle in the first quarter, Jesse Olofson found the endzone on a five-yard run as time expired to give Tehachapi their first touchdown of the game. John Cramer added on the two-point run to help the Indians go up, 8-0.

On the Tiger’s next drive, an errant pass found the hands of Robert Sigmund deep in Indian territory, and the alert defensive back took the interception 84 yards for a score for Tehachapi’s second touchdown. After a Daniel Baquerizo extra point, Tehachapi was on top 15-0.

The Indian’s next two drives ended with pass completions for touchdowns, with Robert Sigmund hauling in a 78-yard catch-and-go for a score and Jesse Olofson taking a completion 16 yards to paydirt. Daniel Baquerizo connected for the extra point on the Olofson score to help Tehachapi log in a 28-0 lead heading into halftime.

Towards the end of the third quarter, Baquerizo capped Tehachapi’s win with a 27 yard touchdown run, highlighted by a punishing barrel-roach in the redzone before logging in the touchdown.

On defense, John Cramer led Tehachapi with five tackles, followed by Andrew Howell, Nick Howell, Matt Santos, Tyler Hagen, and Jesse Olofson with three each. Clint Heinzler, Erik Erickson, and Harroun all recorded sacks, while Nick Howell also logged in an interception.
