BRAVES EEK BY THE WILDCATS, 7-6

TEHACHAPI NEWS - Adam Mullen stole the show and the game against the Taft Wildcats with another impressive performance, rushing for 227 yards and a fourth quarter score to lift the visiting Braves over the Wildcats, 7-6.

Tehachapi (5-1; 1-0 SSL) started their touchdown winning drive on the Taft 26-yard line in the fourth quarter, set up by a Justin Hansen interception and run from midfield. At the 6:30 mark, Mullen took a sweep five yards for a touchdown to tie the game at 6-6, and then tacked on the extra point for the winning 7-6 margin.

The Braves iced the game on their final offensive possession of the afternoon, starting at their own 13-yard line and logging five first downs in a march to the Taft one-yard line. Kurtis Knudson ended the game with a kneel-down to end the contest.

Along with Hansen’s interception, Dominic Chavarria, Knudson, and Damien Rodriguez recorded sacks, and Jason Hail followed up his eight-tackle night against Roosevelt with another standout performance, logging in six take-downs against Taft. Eric Harroun had five tackles, Cody Roebuck and Chavarria had four tackles each, and Joey Hack, Steven Brass, Hansen, and Chris Fimbres all had multiple-tackle nights for the Braves.
