Dear Delegates, Welcome to WHO. We are your chairs, Liz Boeheim, Justine Lindemann, and Rachel Kanter-Kepnes. Liz and Justine are seniors at Jamesville-DeWitt High School, and Rachel is a junior. This will be Justine's second time chairing a MUN conference and Rachel and Liz are first time chairs. Our committee will be run resolution style and we anticipate a mixture of novice as well as experienced delegates. If there are any questions before or during the conference, feel free to ask any one of us. We will be pleased to help you. For all new delegates, please keep in mind that the most important part of delegating is to stay within your country's policy. We also hope that all of our delegates will come well researched and prepared to speak. The objective of the World Health Organization is to attain the "highest possible level of health" across the world. Health is defined in WHO's constitution as a "state of complete physical, social and mental well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." Keeping this goal in mind, here are the committee topics in the World Health Organization committee of the 2003 UNYMUN Conference. -mental health issues associated with war trauma -ebola and it's effects on the people in areas where breakouts occur -mental and physical health issues associated with the utilization of uranium tipped warheads Research Suggestions: -World Health Organization Website -United Nations Chronicle Online Edition Once again, we are all looking forward to seeing you in April and we anticipate an enthusiastic and interesting committee. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact any of us. Good luck with your preparations! Liz Boeheim Justine Lindemann Rachel Kanter-Kepnes DMBabe3246@aol.com minty301@yahoo.com |
