*Why Mayor Perkins feels $7.00 an hour for City employees is a feather in his hat?

Lets break it down: (family of four)

40 hours @$7.oo an hour = $280.00
Social Security = $ 17.36
Medicare = $ 4.06
State w/ holding = $ 8.40
Federal w/ holding = $ -.--
Single Insurance = $ 44.31

Total take home (if entire family is not insured) is $205.87.
If the entire family is insured, another approximately $45.00 per week will be charged. That knocks the total take home down to $160.87. TRY LIVING ON THAT MAYOR PERKINS!!

*Why TrustBuild is involved in headboards and furniture?

*Why the Mayor is continuing to stand by the Chief of Police and his "assassination" theory after the facts have proven it to be false. This website feels the Chief knows too much about the "conduct" of the Mayor, especially during the first four years as his bodyguard.

*Why did Janie Venter bring up a pension for Mayor Perkins in the 11/27/06 Council meeting?

*Why did the Mayor, on his radiocast (105.3), on 11/29/06, mention a pension for himself? Watch how this is slid onto the taxpayers as another burden.

*Why would the Mayor feel he is entitled to a city pension after only 6 years in leadership....all 6 of which have been disasterous!!

*Why the Mayor keeps saying that everything is moving forward when the city of Selma has had approximately 1,000 people laid off from their jobs?

*Wonder why he says "HE" has created 1,100 new jobs. People are commuting now more than ever to find employment.

*Wonder how Team Selma feels about him saying "HE" is responsible for whatever economic development comes to Selma, which is very little.

*Wonder what happened to the great hope of health care through the Good Samaritan building? Another empty building and broken promises.

*Why would the Mayor and Council talk about annexation toward Potters Station when their approach backfired with Valley Grande - landlocking our city to the North. A very serious blunder!
