*THE DEFEATED AND DISGRACED EX-COUNCILMAN JOHNNIE LEASHORE IS GOING TO PAY BACK THE CITIZENS OF SELMA THE MONEY HE STOLE FROM THE CITY WATERWORKS AND SEWER BOARD? According to the State Examiners of Public Accounts, "From the period beginning October 1, 2004, through May 31, 2008, the Chairman, Johnnie M. Leashore, has received a total of $59,609.17. Of this amount only $15,400 was allowable, resulting in a total over payment of $44,209.17". To take what you know is not due you is stealing in our book! Leashore needs to pay this money back immediately to the taxpayers of Selma. We urge everyone to write:

Ask the Attorney-General to take action to get our money back from this pathetic figure and sore loser. Leashore cannot accept the fact that his own people are the ones who know him best and voted him OUT OF OFFICE. We are thankful for the good citizens of Ward 6 who did the city a tremendous service by removing this miscreant from public office.
*THE DUKESTER is going to get his foot out of his mouth for his latest gaff. On his radio program today, he made a snide remark about he did not know anyone at Bush Hog wore a tie and because they did it is "no wonder they are getting fired". This is an insult to all workers at Bush Hog and a hateful comment in these times of great economic difficulty for many of our friends and neighbors. How insensitive and mean spirited is Duke to make such a comment? Call Mike Reynolds at WHBB 875-3350 and ask him to take Duke off the air. AS BAD AS DUKE'S REMARKS ABOUT BUSH HOG WORKERS ARE, HIS REMARKS ABOUT MARRAIGE AND DIVORCE ARE DOWNRIGHT DESTRUCTIVE TO MARRIAGE. One final word about the Dukester: Each year, Christians in Selma try to promote love and unity by observing a National Day of Prayer and JESUS DAY on the streets of Selma. Jesus Day will be May 3rd this year. When Duke was trying to convince his followers in Colorado how evil Selma was and trying to get them to follow him here, HE CALLED JESUS DAY "DEVIL DAY". To call "Jesus Day" Devil Day is to insult every Christian in Selma involved in this annual event, which has a good purpose and which is sponsored by local Christians and Christian churches. THE SOONER DUKE AND HIS FOLLOWERS LEAVE OUR CITY, THE BETTER OFF WE WILL BE.
*BENNIE RUTHLESS CRENSHAW AND MILLIE VICK are going to accept the fact that the City Council has appointed Dr. Allen to the Water Board and SHE WILL SERVE. When Dr. Allen was seated at the board meeting Monday, Crenshaw and Vick walked out of the meeting. Isn't there someone in Slema who can talk to Millie Vick and free her from Ruthless' influence? Even though Ruthless and Vick walked out of the meeting, you can be sure they took their salary for the month.
