Recently certain community leaders held a fund raiser for Senator Hank Sanders at the Henderson House. The primary hosts were Alabama Power (Alisha Sommerville), Probate Judge Ballard, and WHBB owner Mike Reynolds. We do not fault any of these people for their part in this endeavor, but the real hypocrites here are HANK AND ROSE SANDERS. Rose daily blasts the Selma Country Club, when her venom is not being poured out on Cecil Williamson; however, she had no problem at all attending a fund raiser organized by the PRESIDENT OF THE COUNTRY CLUB, MIKE REYNOLDS. Where are you Mark Duke when your friends Hank and Rose attend a party where many of the organizers and many attendees belong to that evil institution of segregation, The Selma Country Club?
And speaking of hypocrites....let's put Mark Duke and his cult in that number. How can people who wear Christianity on their sleeves promote a HINDU dance Jai Ho on the Pettus Bridge? We were pleased that Dr. Williamson finally pointed out what the dance is and where it came form. How can promoting Hindu songs and dances please the true and living God of Scripture? Hey Mark, do you and your three wives want to explain that to the community?
We are tired of Rose Sanders disrupting the meetings of the Selma City Council and say that enough is enough. We are calling on the Council President and members to put a stop to this lunatic anarchist that is continuing to keep industrial prospects away from the city.
And talking about hate....CAN HATE RADIO 105.3 BE ANY MORE VILE than the defeated and disgraced thief Johnnie Leashore makes it? If everything on HATE RADIO was true or if everything was false, it would make no difference to industrial prospects who hear it. They would not come within miles of a place that tolerates this kind of hate. We are pleased that a number of people have complained recently to the Federal Communications Commission about HATE RADIO 105.3. WE URGE EVERYONE TO GO ON LINE TO THE FCC WEBSITE AND FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE HATE, RACISM, BIGOTRY, AND LIES THAT COME FROM HATE RADIO 24/7.
Now we hear that Rose has wormed her way back on the Voting Rights Board of Directors and that Director Charles Mauldin has resigned because of Rose. Rose had made a big announcement about resigning from the Board, but as soon as the $450,000 came from Congressman Davis, she saw money and is now back on the Board. When Hank Sanders entered the Alabama Senate nearly 30 years ago, Hank and Rose had one broken down house on Union Street to their name. After Hank has spent all of these years in the Senate, Selma is worse off than it was in the 1980's and Hank and Rose are the two richest African-Americans in Selma and the Balck Belt...and the wealth sure did not come from practicing law!!!
And as always, we want to know when Leashore and Crenshaw are going to pay back the $100,000 they stole from the Water Works Board. No wonder our water rates keep going up!
We like the stance the Selma Times-Journal has taken toward the anarchy created by Rose and her minions at the City Council meeting. While the STJ sometimes criticizes the City Council, they have not done what Rose wants--give her reams and reams of publicity about the chaos she creates.
