*Why Mayor Perkins is paying $1 million for swamp land and proposing to build a new school there? Then, we were told we should "FOLLOW THE MONEY" ONCE THE $1 MILLION CHANGES HANDS! Will any of the money find its way back into the pockets of certain local politicians???
*Why Perkins has manipulated the Selma School Board in order to have the system's CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO) REPLACED WITH ONE OF HIS CRONIES? The present CFO is a long time Selma banker with knowledge and experience in financial matters who has done an excellent job of keeping city school finances in good shape. OF COURSE HE IS WHITE... THAT IS ALWAYS A CONSIDERATION IN THE PERKINS MENTALITY... Perhaps, Perkins and his gang on the Selma School Board will give us a CFO with qualities like some of the employees Perkins has working for the City. For example, THE SIGN ON THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TELLING CITIZENS TO USE THE SIDE "ENTERANCE", and the letter from the Tax Office, which lost citizens' checks for 8 months, which says:
_"I am writing this letter of apology because the check you wrote on 2-23-06 for your garbage fee in the amount of _______ on check # ________ got MISPLACE in our vault and was not DEPOSIT in the bank..." Mayor, shouldn't that be "MISPLACED" and "DEPOSITED"??
Considering some of the overpaid illiterates Perkins has hired to work for the City, we wonder with one of his cronies as CFO, HOW LONG IT WILL BE BEFORE THE SCHOOL SYSTEM IS BROKE?...AND, he continues his efforts to get rid of Superintendent James Carter and replace him with one of his flunkies in City Hall, Ms. Charlotte Griffith!!!
*Why Wallace College, Selma City Government, and Selma Water Works are still receiving taxpayers dollars for ANOTHER work training program? DID FEMA ever conclude its investigation of WHY SELMA WORKS and Felicia Pettaway were PAYING SELMA WORKS STUDENTS THROUGH THE DEFUNCT PETTAWAY GROCERY BANK ACCOUNT IN ALBERTA???
*Why Wallace College President James Mitchell thinks the College is his own private Kingdom and that he can curse, verbally abuse, and harangue with profane language everyone from vendors to faculty members? It is JUST A MATTER OF TIME before the 2 Year College Scandal that has engulfed many 2 year colleges in the State gets to Wallace in Selma!!! When it does, Mitchell, PERKINS AND SANDERS WILL HAVE ALOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO. We are sorry to see a once fine college turned into a cesspool of possible corruption, nepotism, and cronyism.
*Why Mayor Perkins thinks the Selma School Board, even with a majority of his cronies on it, will swap SWAMP LAND for the prime location where Selma High is located? When is the Mayor going to tell the community WHAT HIS REAL PLANS ARE FOR THE LAND AND SCHOOL???
