During discussions on item #3 above, it was noted that the City only recieved 1 bid on one of the projects. MALONE CONSTRUCTION BID $49,512 TO REPAIR FIRE STATIONS 1-4 and the Public Works Garage. There were no other bids submitted.

There were 2 bids submitted for repairing the Police Department roof, with Steward Construction being the lowest bidder at $74,989.

During questions about why the City does not usually get more than 1 bid for these construction projects, COUNCILMAN CAIN OFFERED THE OPINION THAT BECAUSE THE CITY IS SO SLOW IN PAYING ITS VENDORS THAT SOME COMPANIES WILL NOT BID ON CITY WORK.

This site has decided to publish how Council Members vote on various proposals presented by the Mayor and the City Attorney.
