With the new emphasis on transparency in government, the Selma City School system is now posting all of its checks on line. As we looked at the checks for December, 2009, WE WERE SURPRISED TO SEE THAT A NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO DO NOT TEACH SCHOOL OR WORK AS SUPPORT OF ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL WERE BEING PAID MONTHLY BY THE SCHOOL SYSTEM. This looks like some politician PASSING MONEY THROUGH THE SCHOOL SYSTEM TO PAY HIS OR HER CAMPAIGN WORKERS. If someone will contact us via email and let us know what the following people are doing for the School System and why they are being paid, we will gladly post it on this website. Below are check numbers, individuals, and amounts paid from EDUCATION FUNDS, ALL OF THIS INFORMATION IS ON LINE.

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? WHY ARE THEY GIVEN MONEY FROM THE STATE THROUGH THE SELMA CITY SCHOOL SYSTEM? WHO IS RESPONSIBLE? Please give us some answers and we will print them-especially why these people should get money from the SELMA CITY SCHOOL SYSTEM EACH MONTH? It sure looks like a RIP-OFF OR A PAY-OFF!!!
