The Chief's New Toy

Sources within city government have informed this website that Chief Martin recieved the new car the mayor ordered for him. This source said this vehicle is equipped with every whistle and bell you can imagine. This is the personal executive car, as was stated in a council meeting, ordered to his speciifications. This wasn't enough. The day the vehicle was recieved the chief sent it to a shop to have the windows tinted. This website fells there are two concerns about this vehicle.

The first is the tint installed on the vehicle, specifically that it violates the state law. This website conversed with proper authorities and law enforcement vehicles are not exempt from state law pertaining to percentage of tint. This tint should be removed immediately! This city is a stickler for everyone obeying the law. They should understand that they are bound by the same laws. This also pertains to the mayor's car, yes mayor, you are in violation also.

The second concern is that patrolmen are riding double in public safety vehicles. There are not enough cars to satisfy the needs of the officers or the crime conditions in the city. The nine vehicles ordered several months ago, authorized by the city council at the request of the mayor, have not arrived. This website feels that there could be only two reasons for the late arrival. Production problems were experienced or the money has not been sent from the city. This website feels that the second reason is more likely.

The mayor wouldn't be putting the expenses of the vehicles on hold to include them on next year's budget like he did with the new garbage trucks and equipment last budget year would he? When playing the budget with no thought in mind about the loss of life and limb, there is not only a serious problem with the budget, there is a more serious problem concerning the safety of the citizens.

But just an idea, should anyone get a ticket for the tint on your vehicle, contest it and ask the judge why only citizens have to obey that law.
