This website has contended throughout the destruction of our police department that inept management, favortism, micromanaging, and low morale caused by these actions have resulted in the control of crime becoming impossible.
Several citizens in our city have continuously stated that crime was not being reported and that the reports were not written as they should have been. They stated that the morale was extremely low due to the Chief and Mayor not being able to motivate or properly supervise. They have stated that Mr. Cain, while Chairman of the Public Safety Committee, could not get the other members to attend, which made the committee virtually non-productive. They have said that the appointment of Martin as Chief of Police was a reward for silence. They have said that when Martin resigned he should have been asked to depart from the position. They have said that Martin and Perkins have divided the SPD into those who bend to their every call and those who want to be left alone to police and protect the public. Many have said that the Police Evaluation will address all of these items in a very critical way.
There will be an attempt to conceal the Management Report Letter because of "good name and character." The name and character is the truth about Perkins and Martin. The public should demand the letter and the entire report. WE ALL PAID DEARLY FOR IT!!
If this website has not been correct in our evaluation of the SPD, according to the Evaluation Report, we will be the first to admit that we were wrong. However, if it is worse than we contend it is, we will be the first to bring everything to the attention of the citizens through this website.
