TROUBLE IN PARADISE...NUMBER 1
11-15-10

We have been given a series of emails from those associated with the Sanders VOTING RIGHTS MUSEUM.....These emails show that the Museum is rift with CORRUPTION, THEFT, DIVISION AND THREATS, and is on the verge of collapsing from strife between ROSE SANDERS and employees. We are going to print all of these emails in the coming weeks.

In the email which follows, Museum interim Director, Olimatta Taal, daughter of Connie Tucker, says that ROSE SANDERS cussed her out. Taal is under attack from Rose, her sister, Carolyn Varner, Felicia, and other Sanders cronies. READ THE EMAIL WHICH FOLLOWS. This is the first in a series about trouble in Rose's little paradise across the river.

Greetings to Members of the Board:

I wasn't really ready to respond to what is going on at the present moment, but since I amt he center of this issue, I decided to at least set a few things straight. I did not call Carolyn this morning and tell her that I would not have my power as executive director taken away, that is false and misconstrued. What I said was that I heard that she and Felicia had written a letter to the Board requesting that my power as executive director be relinquished and adjusted. I told her that I could not work under those circumstances and to recommend to the Board that I should be let go.

Secondly, the secret meeting between Felicia, Carolyn and the new archivist and Tuskegee archivist team was unethical. Any time members of a Board think they can have a meeting without informing the Director, it is a conflict of interest and undermines the director's leadership. Yes, Carolyn had informed me that she was expecting someone from Tuskegee. I thought she was doing a tour. She did not tell me that she was meeting with Felicia, Tuskegee and other archivist. I was leaving Friday evening for Atlanta because my birthday was Monday. It is my choice to take trips when I am not working for the museum. Besides I take many trips to promote the Museum which I pay for myself.

Thirdly, yes Carolyn and Felicia did ask me not to participate in the Tuskegee archivist training but I felt that I needed to be there and I made the decision based on the fact that as Project Director of this Digitization project, it was important for me to understand all the elements and what it take to make it successful. The Tuskegee archivist agreed. After the trip, I received a threatening call from Carolyn telling me that if I don't listen to them that I would lose my job. I was very offended by her threats. There have been issues between myself, Felicia, and Carolyn. I have been accused of having poor judgement yet I have worked very hard to direct the museum to the best of my ability. My character has been disrespected in many instances and several times I have called Dr. Vivian and Erica to express myself and my concerns. I WAS CURSED OUT AT MY OFFICE ON FRIDAY BY ROSE about an issue that had nothing to do with my position at the Museum after being accused that the staff at the Museum are not working and nothing has changed since she stopped being President.

I feel that the real issue is that this institution is controlled by certain elements and when people in leadership roles make decisions that go against that element, problems exists. I'm tired of the drama and it is a shame that an institution of this magnificence, important and history CANNOT DEVELOP THE WAY IT NEEDS TO. We have hired a dynamic new set of staff that have the opportunity to begin fresh, but they have been CORRUPTED BY THE DRAMA and certain negative energy. I am not perfect and I now there are certain areas where I need to grow. One thing for sure, I have never disrespected anyone on my staff or around me, the way I have been threatened and disrespected. What really hurts is that the people who I have known most of my life are the ones that I have issues with.

I will not be a part of an institution that does not embrace the principles that we preach. I did not give up my personal projects in Africa and the Caribbean to be treated the way I have been treated. I AM ASKING THAT YOU ALL RELEASE ME FROM MY POSITION OF INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, the drama is having a mental, spiritual and psychological affect on me which is not healthy for me.
