The Monday night City Council meeting was unindated with much of the same cronyism as before except for a few memorable moments.
When President Evans explained the meeting with the King and his Court in the mayor's office concerning the conduct of contrary Crenshaw, eyebrows raised and a feeling of disbelief was evident. The King and his Court stated to President Evans that the way the previous council meeting was handled will be the norm.
The person being belligerent, disrespectful of the Council President or disorderly will not be escorted out by the Police. They will be allowed to take over the council meeting to the point of getting adjournment.
What kind of maniacal decision is this? Simple answer - the same type of decision the King has forced on the citizens of Selma and expected them to blindly follow.
Those days are gone. By looking at the Council audience at this meeting anyone can see that they and many others have had it with selfish games and personal agendas. This dictatorship by King Perkins and his self-serving puppets will end.
The applause from the audience when Leashore and Crenshaw attempted to be over-bearing to the gavel but was overridden by the good sense of others on the Council shows the public is tired of their antics.
Leashore and Crenshaw are under the impression if they holler the loudest and longest they will succeed. This has changed. They feel they are protected by the King but not only will he sacrifice them to save his own hide but he will turn against them like a rabid dog if his directions are not followed. They have their orders - "Doctor Allen will not be accepted as a member at the Water Board. Do whatever is necessary to keep her banished from our Kingdom". The King is aware that if Doctor Allen succeeds in taking her seat on the board, there will be a majority capable of firing the Mayor, Leashore and Crenshaw. A person who succeeds through deception will be removed through dissention, most of the time by those who feel their share of the rewards are not enough.
MAYOR PERKINS, COUNCILMAN LEASHORE, COUNCILMAN CRENSHAW - YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY OUT! YOUR ABUSE OF AUTHORITY AND SELF APPOINTED POWER IS DWINDLING. YOU ARE DUE FOR A HARD FALL AND BECAUSE OF YOUR CONDUCT, DISRESPECT AND PERSONAL SELFISH AGENDAS, THERE WILL BE NO ONE TO HELP YOU UP!
It is certain the King will not. He will be busy saving his own skin. Chief Executive Officer of our city - What a Big Joke!
