This email was sent to us concerning a City of Selma business license. It is not the only time we have heard of this through email or from people in the community. Read on:
"I wonder if anyone else has complained about not getting their Selma City Business License yet. I called the City in January to inquire on why we haven’t received our license renewal application and was told they were running behind because they were testing the system, (who knows what that means). We finally got our application so I quickly returned payment to receive our license. I have yet to receive it and have called several times to find out why. Each time they have some excuse and today when I called, I was told their printer was broken.
"This is not the first year this has happened. For the past two, maybe three years I have had to call and ask about the license renewal form, there is always some reason as to why it wasn’t sent out on time. We do business in Marion, Clanton, Demopolis, Camden, Valley Grande, Pine Hill and Thorsby, we never have problems with getting our license renewal on time from them, but right here in our own city we can’t seem to get it done right.
"I wonder if the Selma City License Department has employees knowledgeable enough to do the job. Any comments on this?
