Watcher,

I read your column and then went to the "Perkins'" Times Journal, ( he is his own area code now, isn't he?) and read the "rest of the story". As I remember Evelyn, she pretty much follows in Martin's footsteps, that is being a dim-bulb herself, she probably believes she was harassed, if Councilman Cain looked at her. She is very "militant" and thinks of herself as an "intellectual" person. News flash: intellectual means smart, not talkative. If Perkins or Martin told her poop was food, she would break out forks and paper plates. As for James Walker, who I like, he would do whatever Perkins or Martin told him to do, so he could keep his easy job. How did Ghant see who grabbed her if her back was turned? Did James tell her? Do you take people at their word or would you rather see for yourself? Walker telling Cain, " Don't touch her." is about as aggressive as I have heard him, being as how he was known for his assertiveness.

Ghant being "threatened" is a joke. She is an armed, female police officer. If she felt threatened, Cain would be dead. Dead, that's right. We are not taught to shoot to wound when we feel "threatened", but then, again, as I recall, she can't shoot too well either.

As for the "Judge" from Hayneville, everyone knows that people in Hayneville will do anything for money. The whole town is questionable. It is funny that this "Judge" said his "dog was not in that fight", because dog-fighting seems to be a popular sport in Hayneville, as I remember. Perkins is a joke and the more we discuss him, the better he feels about himself. Let his "Times Journal" tell the legacy of the King, while we will continue to talk about meaningful things, like, I think Mr. Cain is being railroaded, or does anyone seem to mind that a mostly black town is "lynching" a white man? But of course that would not be a hate crime. He would have to be black to qualify for hate crime status. Wrongfully accusing and trying a white man is just all in a day's work for King James' Gang.
