"SAVIORS" or CON MEN
12-11-06

We do not know what grievous sins Selma has committed which causes so many "out of town homeboy" saviors to come to our once lovely city to tell us how to live! Our comments today center upon 2 of the latest "saviors" to appear in Selma with more social gospel and social engineering schemes to save the city and "bring us all together". Consider "out of town homeboys" Cliff Albright AND OUR LATEST SAVIOR ALL THE WAY FROM COLORADO, MARK S. DUKE!!

(1) Cliff Albright: One of the original "out of town homeboy" saviors who has more schemes to save Selma than a TrustBuild Liason!! He is another loser who ran for the State House with the support of "you know who"! We were disappointed to read recently in the Selma Update that ALBRIGHT AND HIS WIFE WERE BEING SUED BY CAPITOL ONE FOR NON-PAYMENT OF A DEBT! People who are going to tell everyone else how to live should clean up their own dirty laundry first!!

(2) Mark S. Duke: AND NOW COMES THE BIGGEST "savior" OR CON MAN OF THEM ALL..Are the people of Selma so naive, so dumb, or so innocent, as to the ways of the world, that they will receive with open arms anybody who suddenly appears to save the City from ourselves? Already, questions are being raised about Duke and his commune coming to Selma.

(a) The STJ reported Duke had "bought" a house in Selma and then ran a correction the next day that he had a "contract" to buy a house. Shouldn't someone look into a persons background, especially a person who has bounced around from Lawrenceville, GA, Naperville, IL, Buford, GA, Norcross, GA, Bolingbrook, IL, and Denver and Parker, CO??? Shouldn't someone, in Selma, ask about "The House of God, Begin Again Ministries", which Duke incorporated in January of 2003, and which the State of Colorado, administratively, dissolved in September of 2004, is the church he began, which according to the STJ "Grew Rapidly" or was it another set-up like The Freedom Foundation, to get government funds?!

(b) IF Duke comes to Selma and "buys" the Tepper Building, IT WILL BE THROUGH A NON-PROFIT GROUP, WHICH MEANS THE TEPPER BUILDING WILL BE TAKEN OFF THE CITY TAX ROLL (the city will lose tax revenue) WHILE THE CITY WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE INCREASED SERVICES.

One thing ALL "saviors" have in common is that they want to change our community, but never with their own money; always at taxpayers expense!

And it would also be a good idea for someone to ask Duke where he received his Master of Divinity Degree from. Ask because Duke's references to "The Beloved Community" he wants to create in Selma come, not from the Bible, but right from a social gospel and one world utopian vision.

Selma, please do not be taken in by these out of town homeboy "saviors" who have come to save us from our money...i mean, from ourselves!!
