WHY DO WE, IN DALLAS COUNTY, HAVE TO BE RULED BY ILLITERATE PEOPLE???
2-28-08

Following is a letter which Synethia PERKINS (Cee Cee, Baby Sister) Pettaway, sister of Selma Mayor James Perkins, sent out from the Dallas County Board of Registrars. We have underlined the incorrect grammar in the letter. We also wonder if they teach subject-verb agreement at A & M? Why do we have to have illiterate people in positions of Authority in Dallas County? Remember that Baby Sister Perkins Pettaway was appointed to this position by Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks!

In #2 below, Baby Sister Perkins writes "INA" is by the voter name" - shouldn't that be "VOTER'S name"?

Baby Sister continues in #2 below, "which mean inactive" - shouldn't that be "which MEANS inactive"?

In #2 below, she writes, "make sure the update form have" - shouldn't that be "make sure the update form HAS"?

In #5 below, Pettaway writes, "get the name of the person that authorize you to do so" - shouldn't that be "that
                    AUTHORIZES you to do so"?

We do not mind having African-Americans in public position in this county and the city. In fact, one of our website group is an African-American! What we object to is having illiterates - white or black - such as Baby Sister Perkins Pettaway rule over us. We suggest that she learn basic English before sending out any more letters!
