This is addressed to those who voted to pass the Bond Issue on to the ballot box.

Do you realize Perkins is going to use the line, "The majority of the Council supported this Bond Issue" to convince the public they should vote yes?

This website has heard nothing from Evans, Martin, and Allen except that the people should decide.

Why do you think you were elected? The people trusted you to make the best decisions for them rather than let the power hungry, money grubbing Mayor run a $22 million, interest included, bond issue through his personally controlled ballot boxes.

Mr. Evans, if you are planning to run for the Mayor's office, you can start by making the right decisions when a proposal such as the bond issue is placed before the Council. The business community is solidly against this. They are the money people in Selma, NOT the Crenshaw Block and Perkins.

Do you really feel this bond issue is not his ticket to be re-elected? You are cutting your own throat. Martin and Allen are even encouraging you to do so by their vote.

You are asking the business people in Selma to take on a $22 million, interest included, debt and stand by and let the city raise their business licenses by hundreds and thousands of dollars at the same time! The business community is the force that drives the positive side of this city. They should not have to fight the Council, the Mayor, or the personally controlled ballot boxes.

Politics are at work. Allen and Martin have both let it be known they have aspirations for the Council President's seat. They would very much enjoy you being put out of politics.
