MORE ILLEGALITIES AND INCOMPETENCE IN MARTIN'S POLICE DEPARTMENT

We are distressed at the news of reported VIOLATIONS OF CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS of employees in the Selma Police Department by Police Chief Martin. We refer to the LISTENING DEVICES AND PHONE TAPS of police department employees. Our opinion is that Mayor Perkins is aware of these violations and IS DOING NOTHING TO STOP MARTIN.
CHIEF, DON'T THOSE CAMERAS YOU HAVE INSTALLED IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT ALSO HAVE LISTENING DEVICES ON THEM? Aren't you listening to what police department employees are saying via these cameras as well as with other listening devices? Don't you realize you are going to be sued individually and that the City is going to be sued for such activity?
AND WHAT ABOUT THE ROOM IN THE BASEMENT where there is "no admittance." Is this where the phone taps are listened to? There are legal ways to deal with people like Martin and Perkins!
The continued INCOMPETENCE OF MARTIN in letting his employees get sick because of leaking roofs and mold amazes us. Already there is one suit against the City by a Police Officer sickened by the mold. AFTER SPENDING MORE THAN $75,000 FOR ROOF REPAIRS, THE ROOF ON THE BUILDING STILL LEAKS AND MOLD IS BACK IN THE BUILDING AND CAUSING OTHER EMPLOYEES TO BECOME SICK.
AS BAD IS THE FACT THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER ON PART OF THE THIRD FLOOR IS NOT WORKING. While Martin sits in his air conditioned office listening to private conversations of department employees, employees on the third floor are having to work in offices with temperatures reaching 100 degrees. ONE HAS ALREADY HAD TO TAKE A WEEK OFF due to a respiratory infection stemming from the MOLD there and another experiencing similar symptoms.
MAYOR PERKINS, HOW MUCH LONGER ARE YOU GOING TO TOLERATE THIS KIND OF INCOMPETENCE? GET RID OF MARTIN IMMEDIATELY AND PUT SOMEONE IN CHARGE WHO CARES FOR THE EMPLOYEES AND WHO WILL NOT ENGAGE IN ILLEGAL ACTIVITY WHILE ACTING AS POLICE CHIEF.
