WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?
The local "newspaper" has, again, embarrassed our City. Pictures in the local news like this are of no value to our City and promote unlawful behavior as "fun".
There was a ban on fireworks in Selma. What does this picture promote?
Done in the middle of a City street. Alcohol consumption in public. Glass (beer bottle) used to hold bottle rockets that could explode and shower the children with glass. Where's the safety the STJ is always encouraging? And where is the trash (glass and firework debris)? Did you notice the person behind them holding a beer?
Do you think this promotes a dangerous situation?
The STJ will not report crime conditions in our City but will promote this dangerous, unlawful behavior as a well-rounded, ordinary, fun-loving event. They would rather have photo ops of the Mayor's politics than report the actual news. The Mayor's politics are NOT news, it's more like yellow journalism.
