MAYOR PERKINS FRIENDS AT GOOD SAM HOSPITAL CONTINUE TO HURT THE POOR

PROHEALTH RURAL HEALTH SERVICES, located in the Good Sam Hospital Building, continues to engage in questionable business practices.

In a recent action filed in the Dallas County Court, a former employee alleges that ProHealth, contrary to its policy stated in its Employee Handbook, did not pay unemployment taxes on her earnings. When she tried to collect unemployment compensation, she discovered that ProHealth had not been paying unemployment taxes. Because of that, her claim was denied and she suffered extreme financial hardship.

This is not the first time ProHealth has been sued since it took up residence at Good Sam. Angelfire readers will remember that Mayor Perkins practically had apoplexy when it looked like the city was not going to lease the Good Sam Hospital so his friend and financial supporter, Ray White from Tennessee, could have the Good Sam for his business in Selma.

Instead of helping the poor, it looks like ProHealth is violating the law by not paying enemployment taxes on its employees and is actually hurting poor people who have no way to fight back except by filing claims in the Dallas County Small Claims Court!
