DUKESTER AND HIS 'SPIRITUAL LIVE-IN' LIGHT UP TALK SHOW WITH LIES AND HALF-TRUTHS

We were appalled that the Dukester and his spiritual live-in, Gwen, as well as Ronald "I am a better man for robbing a bank" Smith would say on their radio program Monday that they had not threatened anyone. That our readers might know that this is a lie, we print these two examples of the threats made by this CULT.
(1) First, Duke and his friends went to a local insurance Office late last Wednesday afternoon and made direct threats to boycott the business and have demonstrations there if a certain agent did not cease his opposition to them.
(2) Duke personally contacted Micah Gandy of Elkdale Baptist Church and threatened the church with marches and demonstrations if the Church did not cancel the appearance of Watchman Fellowship Director Allan McConnell at Elkdale last Sunday night. Because Pastor Gandy was not going to be there Sunday night, McConnell's appearance was cancelled. We are assured that Elkdale will reschedule McConnell and will not be scared by the Dukester's threats. We also believe that Duke has made a major strategic mistake by involving Pastor Gandy and Elkdale in his nefarious schemes. As one of the largest and most influential churches in the city, Elkdale may be a "bigger fish than Mark Duke can fry". We are certain that Pastor Gandy is not going to be pushed around by Duke and his Colorado cult members.
In view of these two examples, we wonder how Duke, the live-in, and Ronald can say with a straight face that they have never threatened anyone in this town. The House of God is a CULT. They fit all of the classic parameters. (1) They have committed leaders. (2) Members are encouraged to sever relationships with friends and relatives who do not belong. (3) Members are expected to live by a certain code laid out by the founder's teachings, and (4) When anyone drifts away fron the group, other members will try to stop him or her. It is no wonder Duke has broken up so many marriages and alienated so many children from their grieving parents. The worse marriage break up involved Shawn Durham and her husband. After convincing them to divorce, Mark then had Shawn (Samuelson) move in with him to be his "spiritual partner" while he decided to remain married to his "legal partner" Becky. What a guy! All of that is a part of the CULT MENTALITY.
The House of God Church is a CULT. The Freedom Foundation, which has many of the same people as are involved in the H.O.G. Church, is a non-profit front for the cult. It is past time for the FF TO FINISH THE EYESORE ON BROAD STREET FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE TEPPERS BUILDING. It would have been better for Duke not to have bought the building and sold it to the FF if they were not going to complete its renovation. If they are financially able to get a church building valued at more than $500,000 at Selma and Franklin, then surely they can finish the Teppers Building. Meanwhile, we suppose we will hear more lies and half-truths on their radio program.
THE SOONER DUKE AND HIS CULT LEAVE SELMA, THE BETTER OFF SELMA WILL BE AND GREATER WILL BE THE POSSIBILITY OF UNIFYING THE CITY.
