Songs Of A Forgotten Tomorrow
In early fall of 2003 "Seconds Late" went into recording with a friend of ours (Nick from Mandrake) we basically got 5 1/2 songs done. I ended up getting a copy, that had 4 completed songs. I did put "Sense & Sound" (which was the first track off the demo) on the site which the band was fully comfortable with. As for the others they never really where meant for people to hear, we played them live, but just from the direction the songs took it was awful the percussions where off and the vocals where brutal, the guitars in the demo basically where recorded together with the percussions which was really weird and bass alone. We crammed it into one day re-recorded vocals the next day and back up vocals as well. Well here are 2 songs that never got to see the light of day, till today. The recording was pretty awful the whole bass drum was just horrible. Well we worked with what we had, well I hope you find this suiting, amusing or whatever you want to categorize it as.
to download, right click and save target as (the songs are wav. formatted so windows media player is required or any player that is compatible with wav. formatted files) OH YEAH RAISE THE VOLUME it's not that loud.
Improv |this song was made on the spot in one of our practices in late spring, so improvise was basically the concept for that day and we just ended up calling it improv. Raul wrote the song it was pretty basic and easy very catchy too!!! oh yeah I sang back up for this song it was way to weird to sing along to Raul's tone of voice so I had to do my best to match it I sang a separate line too which was made on the spot on the day of recording. I laugh at this song every time I play it, which is like once very 3 months oh well.
Good-Bye (Poppy Song) bonus track | wow this song was a joke at first still is, Me, Elmer, Derrek, and our old drummer Josh made up the song, it was just a fuck around song but we played it as a joke. Well the beat was catchy and so where the riffs, but then we had to get a new drummer because we had a gig coming up and Josh couldn't make it so we picked up Victor and the beat was changed I liked the original but we had no time and we just needed to complete the percussion and Raul wrote the song and also sang back up The name for this song was The Poppy Song, but I thought we'd give it a decent name so I just titiled it the Good-Bye song, you'll hear why. this song had a bonus track Black Tooth, which was about Sammy B. (Self Made bassist) ex girlfriend. I hated this song I thought it was the shittiest thing ever but Raul liked it I like the music and everything but fuck this song was annoying.
Sense & Sound |
The only song that was ever put on the site but I actually like this song, It
sounded similar to a Thrice song (minus the vocals & lyrics) this song was
actually going to be used for a independent film, but I guess nothing ever
really got done. We where going to bring this song back to life before the
band parted ways, with new lyrics and make it longer. I think this one
was one of our best. I wish we could of recorded the newer stuff we had, it
was 10x better than all of these songs put together. Especially with the
lyrics that I had. This song was written by Raul, but because this song
sounded so similar to a Thrice song, we would recognize it as The Thrice Song,
but then we gave it a serious title.
