Breakable Platforms : These are the platforms that you can break to reach new places. Best example of use would be in Sonic 2. These were used to reach the underground areas os the Hill Top Zone. Crumbling Platforms:These break when you stand on them. Normally over hazards such as lava or spikes. Musical Platforms: These make musical noises when you hit them. Can be used to open areas or just for fun. Conveyorbelt:: These platforms move you in one direction away from where you want to go or straight into enemy infested areas. Used as challanges to get passed areas. Rotating: These platforms rotate round and round. If you dont jump then you fall off. Dissapearing Platforms: These dissapear and reapear causin the player to time his jumps carefully. Enemy Platforms: Enemies can be used as platforms. In Sonic Adventure Battle 2 to cross large holes sometimes sonic had to home in on enemies across the hole. Moving: These platforms transport the player from place to place. Can take from as swings or just moving blocks Springs: These act as an aid to jumping giving you a large upwards force.
