My Work

Patricia Janak: Principal Investigator EGCRC
I work for a research organization called Ernest Gallo Clinic and Research Center. You can read all about what they do there and what the center is all about by clicking on that link. Basically, it is comprised of a group of labs studying all aspects of alcohol abuse. My particular lab is headed by our pricipal investigator, Patricia Janak (shown here laughing.) Egcrc is a good place to work: lot's of interesting stuff's going on and the people are all pretty cool.

Some of the people I work with

Random Work Stuff

What do I actually do here? Basically, I take rats out of cages, put them in boxes where they will press levers or put their noses in a nosepoke in order to get a reward. (Sugar or Alcohol) After the experiments are over, I help with some histology, preparing the brains on slices, then analyzing the tissue. I also do some data. I'll go into painful detail later...
