Tag Along Trailers Corporation has received several complaints from customers concerning the company’s latest model of travel trailer (Companion). Customers are reporting that the rear axles are breaking under severe stress. Conditions such as high altitude mountain travel and overloading the trailer appear to contribute to the problem. The company is concerned not only about the current trailers in production but also the 345 units that have already been sold.

 It was also determined that the defective axles could cause serious injury to the persons in the towing vehicle. In order to prevent possible legal litigation, the company attorney was consulted. After reviewing the matter the attorney advised the company to remedy the problem immediately, regardless of the cost. A slow response to the problem would leave the company open to a liability lawsuit. Therefore speed and efficiency in resolving the problem is of utmost importance.
