Kame-sennin's Training

To the Kame House

On Kinto-Un, Son quickly arrives at the great Kame-sennin’s house. Inside, he sees that Kame-sennin is busy watching a woman’s exercise video, so he helps himself to the food in the fridge. Kame is surprised that Goku managed to eat everything except the ice, and asks him why he is here. Son Goku tells him that he has come to train with him. Kame-sennin says that first he must prove himself worthy by getting him a bouncy woman. Not knowing much about woman, Son Goku fetches a huge woman and asks if she’s bouncy enough. Kame-sennin just stares at Goku.

Son Goku tries many times to get a decent woman, but fails each time. Meanwhile, a kid arrives at Kame-sennin’s house. He introduces himself as Kuririn, a pupil from the Orinji Buddhist Temple. After offering Kame some adult magazines, he accepts both of them as martial arts pupils. That’s if they can go out and find a woman for him. Both of them head out on Kinto-Un (Kuririn hanging on to Goku, since he isn’t pure enough to ride it).

Goku and Kuririn meet Lunch

As they head off, both of them hear gunfire and see a woman on a motorcycle being chased by cops. As the police catch her, Lunch admits to the crime, but says that it was her other self, saying she transforms into a bad person when she sneezes. Then, Son Goku jumps down and beats the cops up. Lunch thanks them, and goes back to Kame-sennin with them.

The happy Kame-sennin informs Lunch that she must cook for them, and in return she will receive his training. Kame-sennin presents her with a Gi, and she is about to change right there. Kuririn asks her if she’s going to change right there, and she says that it must be rude and goes inside. The disappointed Kame-sennin gives Kuririn an angry slap. Then, Lunch comes out, and a bee hangs around her head. Suddenly, she sneezes and transforms into an ugly, large woman. She sneezes again, and transforms back. Kame-sennin decides that they should move to a larger island for their training, and they head off in a capsule air-car.

The Race

Soon, the arrive and unpack at a bigger island with a population of about one hundred. Kame-sennin then decides to see how fast the pupils can run, and sets up a hundred-meter long run. Kuririn goes first, and finishes it in 10.4 seconds. Son Goku goes next, and it takes him 11 seconds. Kuririn says that he’s faster, but Son Goku says that it’s because his shoes are worn out. Then, Kame-sennin gives him good shoes, and Goku finishes the track in 8.5 seconds. Kame-sennin then steps up, and says he’ll show them real speed. Then, he easily finishes the long run in a whopping 5.6 seconds. Son can’t believe how fast he is, and decides that there is more to the old man than meets the eye. Kame-sennin then tells Kuririn to go get him a mug of beer, but Lunch chases Kuririn out of the house with a butcher knife, saying that she won’t allow it. Kame-sennin finally decides to skip with the drink.

The training begins

After the race, Kame-sennin finds a rock and writes his Kame symbol onto it. Then, he hurls it over a cliff into a forest. The deal is that the rock must be found before sunset, and whoever finds the rock first is the only one that will get to eat dinner. Son jumps after it and starts to search for it. Meanwhile, the crafty Kuririn borrows a marker from a neighbor and writes the Kame symbol on a similar rock. He quickly runs to Kame-sennin and pants for air as he gives him the rock. However, Kame sees through his trick, and telling him that cheating isn’t allowed, hurls the rock at him.

Kuririn is then forced to go into the forest and start his search all over. As the sun is about to set, Kuririn is attacked by a Saber-toothed tiger. He easily knocks it out, and then hears a shout of glee from Son Goku. Seeing that Goku found the rock, Kuririn tells him that it might be a different rock. Goku says no, and lets him see it. However, it runs out to be a trick and Kuririn runs to the master with the rock. Seeing that Son is chasing him, he challenges him to a fight. Goku accepts, and easily beats Kuririn. In anger, he chucks the rock far away, and Son Goku runs after it. However, it turns out Kuririn threw a different rock, and he presents the original to the pleased Kame-sennin. Then, everybody has a big feast except Goku. However, it turns out later that the fish they ate was inedible.

The Turtle Master's intense training

The next morning, the pupils are forced to wake up at 4:30 A.M. Kame-sennin instructs them that they should become stronger and smarter for good, not evil intentions. The master says that they must train in order to compete in the Tenkaichi Budoukai, the greatest martial arts tournament on Earth. Then, he tells them what they shall be doing. First, they have to hurry to the milk store and buy milk. He says that they aren’t allowed to use machines, and have to deliver to each house manually. Their last stop will be a temple right on top of a high mountain. After that, they must travel across log bridges, water, quicksand, and through areas with monsters, until all the milk is delivered. When Son and Kuririn do all of this, they are instructed to go plow a field. However, Kame tells them that they can’t use shovels, and must use their bare hands. At noon, Kame-sennin tells them to eat lunch. After that, they study for hours and then sleep. Later, they have to go and work at a construction site.

Later, Son Goku and Kuririn say that they can’t keep this up. Kame-sennin then remembers that that day’s training isn’t done, and both pupils are forced to swim laps in shark infested waters. Next, they’re tied to a tree with bees, and the master hits the tree with a stick, and Goku and Kuririn have to dodge the bees. At the end of the day, Kame-sennin tells him that they’ll be doing everything they did today for every single day of their training. Not only that, but from now on both of them will be wearing 20 KG shells on their backs the whole day.

The Great Tournament

Months go by of the intense training, and both Son Goku and Kuririn become way stronger. One day, Son Goku arrives with the news that the Budoukai will be held in one month. Not only that, but also both Son and Kuririn can now lift a huge boulder! As a reward, Kame-sennin says that for the last month of their training, their shells will be increased from 20 KG to 40 KG for one month. At the end of the month, both Goku and Kuririn are great fighters, and can jump up about a hundred feet into the air. Their master presents them with new clothes, and they say goodbye to Lunch. Then, Goku, Kuririn, and Kame-sennin hire a plane and head off for the Great Tenkaichi Budouaki…
