Motoko confronts Keitaro angrily about his true identity and wanted him to leave immediately. Keitaro admits that he is just a preparatory school student. Naru sets a condition that if Keitaro fail to obtain the minimum cut of point result for the following week’s study centre test, he would have to leave. Keitaro agrees without much choice.

Throughout the week, Keitaro is during a lot of household duties. Naru gets frustrated after helping Keitaro with mathematics, Keitaro seems to confuse them all. Keitaro tells Naru about the promise he made 15 years ago, doubting that the girl would remember their promise. Naru assures Keitaro that the girl will.

The following day, Keitaro visits Naru’s room and an open diary dropped on the ground. Keitaro reads it and saw the phrases- 15 years ago, Tokyo University and Promise. He pseudo confirmed that the girl in his dreams in Naru. Naru is upset and refuse to talk to Keitaro for some time when she discovers Keitaro read her diary.

Keitaro takes his self-grading study centre test. He seems to have gotten all the first few question wrong. Dejected, he stopped grading them, and plans to leave Hinata Inn at night secretly.

As Hinata Inn really need a residential manager, the Hinata girls all set out to different directions to find Keitaro. Naru found Keitaro at the entrance of Tokyo University and persuades him to return. Back at Hinata Inn, Keitaro recalculates his score and it is above the cut off point.
