This episode is where Motoko returns from her Kendo training and enters the Love Hina series officially.

She was walking on an overhead bridge with 3 girls tailing her. I call these 3 girls Motoko fans, they refer to Motoko as Aoyama-sempai. Keitaro, Shirai and Haidani did not do very well for their preparatory test. Disappointed, Shirai and Haidani decides to pick up some girls. They tried to flirt with Motoko, but all 3 of them got a taste of Motoko’s Kendo skill. While applying Kendo on Keitaro, Motoko’s face turns red.

She returns to Hinata Inn without knowing that Keitaro stays there. She greatly oppose to the fact that Keitaro is the resident manager in an all-girl dormitory.

Motoko is born in a traditional Kendo family and mastered the art at an impressive age of 15. She has the ability to slash objects into two. Mokoto feels that man made her weak. Keitaro tries talking to her several times, only to find himself flying up high.

Whenever Motoko tries to apply her Kendo on Keitaro, she somehow felt weakened and blushed profusely. She decides to challenge Keitaro on a one-to-one fight, which will determine if he can stay or leave. Due to Motoko’s weaken condition, she faints and almost feel from the roof top. Keitaro saves her. The Hinata girls also discover that Keitaro is nothing more than a preparatory school student. Motoko then realises that she has a cold that cause her to be weaken. She is relieved that it wasn’t love after all. Or is it?
