      Nicole's Childhood

      Nicole was born, Nicole Camille Escovedo. Nicole was adopted by the musical artist Lionel Richie and his wife Brenda when she was two years old. Her biological father was in Lionel’s band and her mother’s name is unknown. Though it seems Nicole would have a perfect childhood, it was far from it. Lionel wasn’t exactly a great father figure, and hardly around while she was growing up.Years later Brenda and Lionel eventually divorced and split up. Nicole was devastated. She felt as if Lionel had left her too. Nicole attended and graduated from The Buckley School with fellow socialite Paris Hilton. Often cutting class to do drugs. She was 13 years old when she began drinking alcohol and taking drugs. She soon began hanging out at clubs and staying out until the early morning hours. Her four-year cocaine addiction began to spiral out of control, and she began taking pills and heroin. Nicole was in her 20s when she began heroin."I was a trash can--I took everything" she said.

      Nicole's parents begged her to go into rehab. But just one week before she was supposed to check in, she was arrested while driving and police found a balloon of heroin. "I was extremely, extremely scared," she explains. She was so scared she checked right in to rehab. In Rehab she found herself, and it's the best thing that has happened to her.

      Nicole has been sober for some time and has been working on many projects. She starred on the show “The Simple Life” for a few seasons and has a few modeling contracts with clothing lines like Bongo Jeans. She is Currently engaged to DJ AM.

      NicoleNicole has had her share of rebel time, but she has given back. She has hosted several Fashion Shows featuring celebrities to raise money. Shows such as the Pelle Pelle Celebrity Catwalk.

      Nicole is a pet owner. She has two dogs, Honeychild and Foxxy Cleopatra. She pampers her dogs, just like any celebrity does. She even saved Foxxy's life shortly after she bought her.
