Taizé 2004 Ottawa

*

On the weekend of February 6-7-8, a carload of brave young adults traveled through a snowstorm to St.Paul's University in Ottawa.  Over five hours after they had left, they arrived and were welcomed with warmth and love.  The next two days were filled with prayer and song, hospitality and friendship.  Here are a few of our photos.

We arrived super-late on Friday evening, just in time to catch the last song of the prayer.  But what a sight that greeted us!

The next morning began with a talk from Brother Emile of Taizé, based on the Letter of Brother Roger for 2004, "To the Wellsprings of Joy."

Each talk was followed by discussion in small groups.  During this time we pulled out the points which spoke most deeply to our hearts.

Evening prayer was especially lovely.

Look very carefully and you can see the group of us in the bottom right hand side.

Brother Emile took the time to answer questions posed by participants.  His generosity of time, wisdom and spirit were much appreciated.

Even helping out with dishes after one meal was a blast!

Sunday morning began with Mass celebrated in the style of Taizé:  with beautiful music, times of silence and interiority, moments of reflection... and of course, seated on the floor!

On Sunday after the Mass, it was time to say goodbye to the incredible volunteers and organisers... but most sadly, to our wonderful hosts, Claude and Suzanne.  You can see our thank-yous here.
