RESULTS

  • Game Evaluatons by Kelsey Paulson
  • Eden Prairie: loss: home, I thought are team did really well for one of our first games of the year. we came out with a lot of energy and that was awesome to see. we knew going into this game that it was going to be a tough one, but, we came out with a lot of energy and I think we surprised eden praire. over all, as a team we were all very pleased with the way we played.
  • Mound Westonka: win: At Mound, I think we played well, but it definitely doesn't compare to how we got up for the Eden Prairie match. And although we won, I don't think that anyone on the team was completely satisfied with the way we played.
  • Litchfield: win: at Litchfield, The Litchfield match was a good one this year for us. It seemed to be the first game this season that we played like a team. During the first game we were a bit slow on serve recieve but by the fourth and final game we were all playing with lots of intensity and came out with a good win.
  • Watertown: Loss: at Watertown, The match against Watertown was neck and neck the whole night. But we just couldn't take a win from them. I think that we lacked the intensity that we had at Litchfield and we were all frustrated out there. We were disappointed because we know we can play better than what we did.
  • Shakopee: win: home, I am happy with the way we played against Shakopee. I think that everybody was in the game with good intensity. Our front row did a good job all around with good coverage, hitting, and blocking. Shakopee's backrow did a good job digging our hits but they couldn't quite keep up with everything we were putting down. Our backrow players were hustling well and playing with little hesitation. Communication improved as well. The fifth game was the most exciting game of the match since we were neck in neck up to the last two points we scored. It was a very exciting game and it's nice to come out with a win.
  • Delano:win: home, we had one of the funnest games against Delano. The first two games they beat us and we were just keeping up with them. By the third game we didn't want to go home and we didn't give up and ended up with a good win on our record. I think we were all very happy beating Delano this year.
  • Norwood Young America: win: at NYA, The game against NYA was a little energiless. I felt like we didn't have the fire that we have had in other games during the season. Norwood's team didn't look too excited and I think some rubbed off onto us. The first two games went very quickly and in the third Mr. Lee put some jv subs in which is good, but it was a little confusing. That game was a closer and Norwood took us all the way to 27-25.
  • Dassel Cokato: win: at DC, the game against Dassel was pretty intense. It was Dassel's homecoming and they had a massive amount of fans. The gym was extremely loud. I thought we played well and DC played well too. They took two games from us, but we came out with the win. Dassel is doing well this year, so I was worried about them taking us by surprise. I think we were ready for them though.
  • Belle Plaine : win: at belle plaine, The game against Belle Plaine started out with them cheering right in our faces as we walked through the small hallway before the game. So we came out wanting to shove it back in their faces on the court. We started out pretty slow and had to make a come back to win the first, third, and fourth games. Our intensity wasn't quite up to par the match against them. All in all we came out with a good win for the record and another game under our belt.
  • Renville: loss: at home, The match against Renville was very disappointing. Coming into the game we didn't know much about them, but expected them to be a big challenge, which they were. The biggest disappointment was that we didn't compete with them. They beat us not by their awesome defense, serving, or frontrow, but through our mental errors. We didn't play like a team out there.
  • Glencoe Silver Lake: win: at home, The game against GSL was very fast. I thought that this was a game with low energy just because the other team wasn't energetic. It was a pretty easy win for us and that feels good because we didn't go down to their level of play like we might have last year.
  • Annandale: win: at annandale, At Annandale I thought that we play okay. Just okay is a good way to put it because we didn't execute anything. Yes, we won, but I'm not satisfied with the way we played. It seemed as though we were just going through the motions.
  • Holy Angels: win: at Banilde/st.marg, the first game in the tourn against Holy Angels went by very fast. we had no idea what they were going to play like. I thought that we played very well for the first game because in all the other tourns we always start out slow. This game we came out right away. the final score of the games were 25-15 and 25-17.
  • Buffalo: loss: Benilde/st.marg, against Buffalo we were really hoping to win. As the only loss of the tourn for us, it was disappointing. But I know we could have beaten them. I hope we meet up with them in sections for a rematch. The finals scores were 16-24, 21-25.
  • Simely: win: at B. StM tourn, just like the game against Holy Angels I thought that this game flew by. It was a lighthearted game and it was fun laughing with the team when a girl was hit in the head with the vb when trying to pass it. Both teams had a good laugh because it was so stupid. final scores were 25-15, 25-12
  • Rogers: win: at B. st.M tourn, the first game we started out really slow. We had a lot of mental hitting and serving errors if I remember right. we knew we weren't going to give them another game after that and came back with a win in three. final scores were 20-25, 25-11, 15-10
  • Becker: win: at home. the game against Becker was a little unenergetic. We tried to come out really excited and as the game progressed the energy on the court just wasn't that high at all. Becker didn't put up much of a fight and the game went be very quickly. It is nice going into playoffs with a positive last win like that.
  • Hutchinson: win: at home. I am very happy with the game on Thursday. We didn't come out with big heads at all, but we were all really focused and ready to play a good match. It seemed that Hutchinson felt the same way and the first game started off very close with an ending score of 28-26. Although it was nice winning the first game, we came out really slow the second game and they went on a run and we just never caught up. We knew that we weren't going to make it that easy for them again and the next two games we came and won it with lots of hustling and smart playing. Hutchinson was a good team, but Mr.Lee had us very prepared for what we were up against. It felt very good walking away with another game for Saturday.
  • Mankato West: win: at Mankato West, the game on Saturday at Mankato West was an extremely exciting one. All of us girls expected to play a good team and we really got up for them. The first game we kind of played like we have been a lot of the season, and we had a lot of mental errors. But the next game we came out strong and surprised them and beat them 25-13. We kept our momentum up and took the third game. I think then during the fourth game they finally realized what was at stake and they didn't want their season to be over. So the fourth game was very close at the end, but we took home the win. It was one of our best games of the season
