Energy is the power scource under which our body operates. Every living organism has energy in them (Known as Ki in Japan). They are all made up of this power source. The Z Fighters all use this energy to fight. But... a certain inquiry comes to mind when "energy" is brought up. How does this system really function? A simple energy (or 'ki') ball is formed when you trigger the cells in your body to submit a part of their energy. The energy travels through the arms by using the nervous system in the body as a pathway. Once the energy enters the palm, it comes out of the pores of the hands and combines together into a solid object; This is known as a simple ball of energy, or a 'ki' ball. Different kinds of energy can be excreted in different amounts and at different temperatures; this is how different energy attacks are formed, by a persons' ability to focus, and actually control the form of their energy. The amount of time it takes for this process to complete depends on the physical fitness of the fighter, and his concentration. Saiyans have an instinct to fight, and they have this special hormone that’s produced in there body that gives them that fighting fetish. This is why they are able to harness their "energy" easier, and faster, and why they are one of the most powerful races in the universe.
Just like humans, saiyans have adrenaline. And, just like humans, it makes them go to the extreme. The proportion of andrenaline of saiyans to humans is about 5,000 to 1. That's right; Saiyans adrenaline is about 5,000 times greater that of a humans! This is shown when they power up, and shown more definately when they turn super saiyan! Their power level is actually just a reading of how much "energy" is built up and around the body. So why do they have golden hair in their transformation to the levels os super saiyan to super saiyan 3? Because they charge up so much that there is no room in there body for it to be reserved. Everything in the body is made up of cells except their hair. So the energy goes to the scalp, eyebrows, and around there body and that’s why they glow. Their eyes turn teal because that’s part of the metamorphosis; the real exact reason is unknown.
Super saiyan level 2 has more hair grown and is stiff because of the enormous power the energy is giving off. Static forms around the body because the energy is rubbing against each other at a great rate. Now, at level 3, The hair grows long and narrow down to knee length because the body needs to create a place for the energy to be reserved temporarily. The eyebrows are gone this time because the energy there needs to be absorbed for one reason or another. Again, this is part of the metamorphosis, and is unknown exactly why it occurs. Now level three is the final level that the body creates on its own. Level 4 becomes done when you turn oozaru, and uses the moons rays as a source of power. Then morphs the saiyan into an even more powerful form by fusing both moonlight and energy into one. Personally I would like to call this a saiyan hybrid myself, because it is not a pure transformation.
Now I have to mention level 1.5, or USSJ separately. This form is hard to testify as better or worse. This form is a desperate maneuver which can be helpful or just a problem. You first must concentrate really hard and must be full of hate in order to tap into this power. First off, your hair slightly goes up in a stiff position. Then your muscles expand immensely large and you gain a lot of strength. The problem is your speed is slower and you don’t gain a lot of power if you train under this form. There are two more forms that are unofficial. Level 5 and level 6. So here is how these forms work: Level 5 can only be achieved after a saiyan has gone through level 4. It looks like level 3 except for the fact that the hair is blood red and the eyes glow bright yellow.
Level 6 can only be formed when your at level 4, because level 5 and 6 are the same power. The only difference between them is that a saiyan gets them under different circumstances. Again, it is really unknown whether level 6 is more powerful than level 5. Level 6 looks like level 4 except there is gray hair all around the body, not just the chest. Also the scalp hair is gray and there are no pupils in the eyes; the eyes are a solid white. Level 6 is supposed to be the most extreme and ultimate form! This form will never be seen in any real DB, DBZ, or DBGT series. Now you know the truth behind energy, or 'ki', so remember it if you can; it doesn't matter. Do what you will with this info. Just power up, baby.
