The Staples:

You know what they are, I know what they are, we all know what they are.
And most likely we all run them. I figured I would take a look at all the
cards in my deck that I find to be staples (you may not agree, but in my opinion
they are staples). Take a look, and think to yourself, why am I running
these same cards all the time?
Monsters
Witch of the Black Forest MRD-116 Rare
Spellcaster/Effect 1100/1200 4 star
When this card is sent from the field to the graveyard, move 1 monster with a
DEF of 1500 or less from your deck to your hand. Your deck is then shuffled.
WOTBF is basically allowing you to go through your deck, and pull a monster
of your choice to your hand. Thank God she is not a flip effect, because it
would kill her effectiveness. The only times her effect isn't used is when its
removed from play or sent back to your hand. She is good to draw during any
point in the game, because she is very rarely useless.
Exiled Force LOD-023 Super Rare
Warrior/Effect 1000/1000 4 star
Offer face-up this card on your side of the field as a Tribute to destroy 1
monster on the field. If this card is used for a Tibute Summon or this card is
offered as a Tribute due to other cards effects, this cards effect is not
activated.
I might get argument about this one, but I just find Exiled Force to be
an outright staple. Think about it, it fits nicely into any possible deck you
can imagine. The strongest point to this card is that it is a multi-trigger
effect, making it spell speed 2. This means you can chain it to things such as
magic cards, summons, trap cards, or other multi-trigger effect monsters.
This is a perfect 1st turn card because you can summon him into attack mode
without the worry of someone attacking it and doing damage.
Honorable Mention
Jinzo
Fiber Jar
Sinister Serpent
Traps
Mirror Force Mrd-138 Ultra Rare
When an opponent's monster attacks, negate the attack and destroy all
opponent's monsters in Attack Position.
Other than Torrential Tribute, this is the only other mass removal trap
card. I shouldn't have to do much explaining why this is such a good card. If
this is activated, your opponent cannot attack during that same battle phase
(or until Total Defence Shogun is released in English). It also has a very
high trade value. This is by far in the top 3 hardest cards to get in the
entire TCG.
Imperial Order PSV-104 Secret Rare
As long as his card remains face-up on the field, negate the effects of all
magic cards. Pay 700 Life Points during each of your Standby Phases. If you
cannot, this card is destroyed.
A complete turn magic negation. You can play it on your opponents
Standby Phase and they can't play a magic card their entire turn, unless of
course
they counter its activation with Mystical Space Typhoon or Dust Tornado. The
cost is optional, meaning if you don't want to keep it on the field any longer,
just don't pay the cost and it's gone. Great to play on your turn when your
opponent has equip cards on their monsters.
Honorable Mention
Magic Cylinder
Destruction Ring
Torrential Tribute
Spell Shield Type-8
Magic
Pot of Greed LOB-119 Rare
Draw 2 cards from your deck.
The name of the game is drawing power, and this is the only drawing card
other than Jar of Greed that has absoutly no drawbacks. I will pay someone
$100,000 if they can give me a valid explanation why this card shouldn't be in
any deck. Well, maybe not 100K, but $50 sounds a little more in my price range.
Raigeki LOB-053 Super Rare
Destroy all of your opponents monsters on the field.
Clear yout opponents field, its as simple as that. Destoy all their
monsters, regardless of position. It has no downfall, at all.
Monster Reborn LOB-118 Ultra Rare
Select 1 Monster Card from either your opponent's or your own graveyard and
place it on the field under your control in Attack or Defence Position (face
up). This is considered a special Summon.
This is by far the best of all the recursion cards. There is no cost,
and the only limit to it is that you can't set the monster in face down defence
position. But that goes with any special summon (im not sure if The Shallow
Grave is considered a special summon). It makes an exceptionally good combo
with Exiled Force.
Change of Heart MRD-060 Ultra Rare
Select and control 1 opposing monster (regardless of position) on the field
until the end of your turn.
Great for stealing your opponents flip effect monsters and using them to
your own advantage. Also great for having another monster on the field to use
as a sacrafice. Also helps to clear your opponents field for attack.
Harpies Feather Duster SDD-003 Promo Rare
Destroys all of your opponent's Magic and Trap Cards on the field.
Raigeki for m/t. Great to use before you attack, summon, activate a
magic card, or activate a trap card. Yes, it isn't invincible, but still pulls
it's own weight.
Honorable Mention
Dark Hole
Heavy Storm
Nobleman of Crossout
Graceful Charity
