As I've explained this is a limited edition model. I have always wanted a guitar with a tremolo that is capable of crazy whammy techniques, so I chose this cool looking guitar. It has a Lo-Pro Edge trem, in later models, it is replaced by a bulkier Edge Trem (which I don't like as much). The colour of this guitar looks really futuristic and cool. So what is this colour? Well, Ibanez calls it CPK, which stands for cyber pink!! Um, not a hint of pink anywhere! More like flat silver! Oh well, it looks cool, so there. It has a basswood body and an upgraded neck. Yep, this isn't any normal Ibanez Super Wizard neck. This Super Wizard neck has clear shark tooth inlays with pearl bindings all around the finger board! The best part of this neck is that it is made by two different woods instead of just a normal maple neck. It is a 3-ply maple/bubinga/maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. I placed a chrome pick holder on the bottom horn. This guitar sounds good and looks awesome.
Future plans for Cyborg: Right now, the Trembolt is installed on Cyborg. So far, I haven't had a REAL chance to use the Trembolt yet. My strings haven't broke and I don't usually go for alternate tunings. So i'm thinking of taking off the Trembolt. (Sorry Zach!) As for other plans for Cyborg, I've been thinking about that for a long time. Recently, I came up with another plan. So now I have 2 plans! I will call them Plan A and Plan B.
Plan A is the one I've been thinking about for a long time. First, I will install a Shure Claw to hold my tremolo springs. I already have that piece, it's just waiting to be installed. Next, I want to re-wire Cyborg as I don't really like how the volume pot is working. (Yes, it's one of those Ibanez wirings with a small capacitor across the volume pot.) Then I want to put on some good quality Dimarzio pickups! Tone Zone for the bridge humbucker, Blue Velvet for the middle single coil and Air Norton for the neck humbucker. After these mods, Cyborg's going to sound awesome!
Plan B is the crazy wild plan. Yes! You heard me right! CRAZY!! It's starts off the same as Plan A, installing the Shure Claw and doing the re-wiring. BUT!! The rest is amazing... The re-wiring will be made so I put 2 powerful passive EMG humbuckers at the bridge and neck positions! THEN!! I install a Fernandes Sustainer System in the single coil space! YES! Then Cyborg will have UNLIMITED SUSTAIN!! How cool is that?? Hahahaha~ Plan B needs to be thought out clearly and well planned first because 1)it is very expesive; 2)requires major modifications on the guitar & 3)may not work at all due to the complications of the sustainer system. So lets see how things turn out for Cyborg!!
