BODY-Genitals

Genital piercings are intended to heighten sexual pleasure. However, if both partners are pierced, extra care must be taken to avoid broken condoms or injury.
Your new genital piercing will not prohibit sex, but contact with bodily fluids (including saliva) could cause an infection. Hands should be washed before handling the piercing if it is not healed as yet. Condoms should be worn during all oral-genital or genital-genital contact to avoid your new genital piercing becoming infected.
Cleaning the piercing after sexual activities is suggested.
Erection or orgasm in the first 5-7 days may cause the piercing to bleed. Heavy intercourse during the healing period could prolong the healing or cause scarring.
Heavy pulling, pinching or tugging jewellery which is too thin to accommodate the piercing, may tear or re-open the piercing. The depth and width of the piercing can also determine the amount of heavy play it can handle.
Discomfort caused by friction can be sorted out by applying a water-based lubricant (KY Jelly-available from most chemists for around $7.95). Genital piercing rarely interferes during intercourse. If such a thing occurs, discomfort can be taken care of by changing position, gauge, dimensions or style or jewellery.
Genital piercing will rarely interfere with condoms. Lubricating the inside of the condom and the jewellery is recommended to avoid any complications. Diaphragms may be dislodged by curved or circular barbells worn in the Prince Albert piercing. Genital piercing hurts no more than any other area of the body.
Female genital piercings will take from 4 to 10 weeks to heal. Male genital piercings can take up to 6 months to heal.
Genital jewellery has been known to chip teeth or become caught in the partner’s throat.
