SILVER SPOONS POTENTIAL MOVIE SOUNDTRACK

Created during the peak of the show's success, DP and the VD took a huge risk in the making of this album. Huge fans of the show, Eugene and Kit jumped at the opportunity of providing the soundtrack to a movie that wasn't even made yet. When the show was canceled in 1987, the group was stuck with a soundtrack to a movie that was never going to be made. A budding musician himself, Corky Pidgeon gave his blessing for the bad to release the disc nonetheless, under the circumstances that he could stand in as the session drummer on the album. Released in 1989, the album was the laughingstock of that year's Grammy Awards, as "Album of the Year" presenter Chevy Chase went on for thirty seconds of air time about the album and then proceeded to fall off the stage. The audience ate both up, and the album's sales jumped, yet again, due to the swell of publicity.
